This is an interesting, well written article. Even if you're not into sports, it's a good read. I posted it here because the implications go far beyond sports.

I disagree with the author that the "silent majority" of Christians "take very seriously Jesus' call to 'love one another as I have loved you.'" I think the silent majority of Christians don't think about their religion in any kind of depth at all.

I think you are correct.

It has been my experience that Christians are born into a Christian family and it is the accepted norm. It's a go-with-the-flow belief system-- whatever my parents/family/community has taught me is socially/religiously acceptable for me must be true. It requires no investigation or questioning of what is right or wrong.

I was born into this type of family and the more I was exposed to the world (mainly in college), the more I began to question my blind obedience to my instilled values and beliefs. I was certainly taught "love on another..", but it was not practiced, because I didn't give it two thoughts.

hated him in college cause i thought he was so phony

but then after a year in the nfl i realized.....


this dude is real as it gets. he stands for somethin and doesnt shy from it which is rare. he doesnt give a **** if you like it or not, he is who he is and i respect that. he has a solid perspective not many athletes have shown
