Suffer the children, huh?

What has it come to when you can't even leave your children in the care of those who are supposed to be professionally qualified to look after them? Jesus, what a country! :banghead:

There are people in the world that think that children are just materials, not human beings.

A world where the nuclear family is/was always bullshit/not always possible while being a world full of people who relentlessly cling to outdated societal/cultural norms in a changing world yet still expect the world to stop spinning because they can't keep up with rudimentary social changes and adapt?

The same world that you apparently live in, where "moral panic" is a tv subplot, not something that actually happens.

I read that entire thing and have no idea what happened. Did some kid get hit or something? That article said nothing about anything.

Sorry, I assumed that article said what it was about, I didn't read it.

Basically, an investigative programme here called "Prime Time Investigates" did an undercover story on creches in Ireland, and found serious flaws in some. Physical and verbal abuse of very young children was reported in three major creches, many of the staff were not trained or qualified, some were "yellow pack", that is to say, minimum-wage/youth style, and the programme shone a spotlight on the fact that the people who were looking after the children were not qualified to do so.

It appears there is no problem setting up a creche/montessori, you just go ahead and do it. No vetting, no qualifications, no standards, and people are up in aems about it. I mean, if you were leaving your children (god forbid you should ever have children!) ;) in someone's care, wouldn't you want to be 100 percent sure that they were safe and being looked after by someone who knew what they were doing?

Here's the relevant article: Criminal investigation into alleged creche abuse - RTÉ News

Oh I agree 100%. I mean, when parents drop off a child they should be assured that facility meets the bare minimum as required by the law! Nothing says, "I love you!" like not bothering with simple due diligence (e.g., "what training does your staff have?") and just trusting a random stranger with your kids!

srsly...
