Well, I don't think you can say it's working based on how many people have signed up for it. Those are different arguments. I mean if you don't have health insurance you'll be fined, so you have to sign up for it at some point. And I think people have just gotten over the hate for it, and the site is working better now (it's actually working I mean), so that explains why people have signed up for it in huge numbers.

I'm not sure the fine threat is driving much. It's not very much relative to what you pay for insurance.

Like I said, The people that have never spent money on health care and they're bent on never doing it will just pay the small fine. You will always have those people. Many that either cost the system or destroy them financially

Oh but those people are few (I think AND I hope), the fact that 7 million uninsured people are signing up attests to the fact that most people are fine with it or at least coming to terms with the fact that the ACA is a law.

They are not a few. They are the people bent on never spending money on health care. Many of them. Mostly in the stupid southern states, but it is strong.

Yeah and then that person who doesn't have health insurance breaks their leg, gets an infection, (go with it) and then can't afford the medication, they make a trip to the emergency room where they don't have to pay anything.

Ridiculous.

I don't care how many of them their are because the way the system in this country works, you can NOT be turned away from the emergency room (except in a few states where they encourage you to pay, like in Massachusetts I believe) and people without health insurance take advantage of that all the time.

It costs thousands and thousands of dollars which raises....

Sorry. I got carried away there.

My point is, people just need to get the health insurance. They're only hurting themselves and the SCOTUS declared the mandate was legal along with everything else.

Just get the health insurance.

We won't be able to tell whether it's working for, like, 5 years.

it's working right away for people that were previously denied insurance for pre-existing conditions.
