I Have a Strange Spirituality

I was raised heavy Catholic. I knelt by my bed when I was a kid. I do believe in an after-life, but not a god. I absolutely experienced it with my ghosts. I don't believe in heaven nor hell. I think souls all go to the same place. You can see those that left before you. Some don't want to go, so stay as spirits. Where you go isn't determined by how good you are.

Is this a statement, question, or......ummmm...yeah... What is the point? So I might respond and piss of Fred.

Is this what I think it is? Possibly the first religion journal? Because that sounds pretty sweet!

sorry, I'm new here. I thought this format was appropriate.

Swing and a miss Briks.

Brother ask one of the people with their name in blue to move it to a home that don't need approval to respond! Again so that I might piss off Fred.

Damn, a religion journal would be pretty awesome, something out of the norm you know?

Ever heard of Epicureanism?

you should give it a shot, it's one of the most logical and liberating philosophy of life i've ever heard.

Epicureanism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

i don't agree wholeheartedly with it, but i do find it's a very peaceful mindset.

"For Epicurus, the purpose of philosophy was to attain the happy, tranquil life, characterized by ataraxia—peace and freedom from fear—and aponia—the absence of pain—and by living a self-sufficient life surrounded by friends. He taught that pleasure and pain are the measures of what is good and evil; death is the end of both body and soul and should therefore not be feared; the gods neither reward nor punish humans; the universe is infinite and eternal; and events in the world are ultimately based on the motions and interactions of atoms moving in empty space."

The only spirits I believe in are the ones I pour over ice.
Cheers bud.

What is so strange about this?

The vast majority of Americans are god people. My position counters that

Nice synopsis. He's one of my favourite ancient Greek thinkers. He had his fill of society and it's madness, f*cked off to build his own little community with his buddies and lived the good and simple life. He even tried to spread his wisdom by placing 'adverts' in markets advising people that buying things wouldn't make them happy. Gotta love that. A great man.
