In a perfect world we'd all be a lot like bonobos but with less overt incestry.

It would be nice if we solved all our problems by fucking.

O wow, wasn't expecting this many responses. Interesting.

I think for me I would really like to live as the Native Americans did, minus all the war between tribes. I appreciate their respect for nature and minimalist lifestyle. I've watched shows on NatGeo about tribes, who still exist today, that have similar values and it seemed so peaceful even when considering the hard work they put in on a daily basis.

Idk that given the opportunity I could give up all the technological advances I have been spoiled(corrupted) by but the idea of it sounds wonderful to me. I feel like we have lost our appreciation for honesty and there is a lot of fake/insincere interactions between most of us.

Perfect is kind of a personal and idealized thing. But I like the diversity of what we already have.

I agree with you Down With Vowels, tribal lifestyle is appealing. My mom's side of the family basically has a commune; they have veggies growing and three houses on the property with various family members, and it's right on the river where fish and crawdads are. When I took my kids there this summer it was great to be able to let them run around and have all the other member of my "tribe" helping look out for and teach them.

That sounds great and all, but what happens when someone needs serious medical attention? And I'm assuming your mother's family go to actual hospitals to get their vaccines. It's nice to see the bright side of that kind of lifestyle, but without the benefits of modern society, real benefits, you'll probably be dead by the time you're forty. Assuming of course that the high infant mortality rate didn't get you first.

I think you're being a bit dramatic. I'm not talking about going back in time or regressing technology and ignoring medical professionals... I'm talking about community and human interaction, extended family staying together, supporting each other financially, paternally, etc.

As opposed to living alone in an apartment surrounded by four other people also living alone in apartment that you avoid eye contact with on your way to your cubicle where you avoid eye contact with your co-workers.

It's human nature to fill in the blanks with worst case scenerio.
But who is to say AI would be friendly after they surpassed humanoids?
