Store managers get bonuses for keeping food costs and customer complaints to a minimum, which makes them care more about those issues more than minimum wage crew members whose only motivation is to not get fired. If I had a similar monetary stake then I might just care enough to do the same. Throw in some of the training managers receive to keep the store running beyond the level of simply making sandwiches and cooking product and perhaps I might be capable as well as motivated to do the same work along with my fellow workers as a collective enterprise. You don't need the whip if everyone wants the business to succeed as much everyone else.

We have not fundamentally changed.
According to Batlord, Goofle speaks the truth. We need hierarchy to function.

Maybe if yall weren't a bunch of lazy buttholes because "minimum wage job doesn't care about me so fuck them", you'd actually ditch the complacent attitudes and achieve something. You don't have to like your job to avoid making excuses for being lazy. Where's your sense of self-worth? If you don't value your own actions why should others?

The hierarchy of debate is one I can get behind. The one that puts ad hominem very close to the bottom.

I'm just here to sling poo. This debate bores me. All I know is I'd rather have any manager I've had in the past being my boss than have to try and make decisions about my future with Batlord and Elph contributing.

More like humans are too complacent and/or stupid to look beyond the drudgery of their current existence. Accepting this world is not desirable.

The greatest bull**** argument in all of capitalism. If everyone did that we'd have the most highly motivated and educated burger flippers who still hated their lives. The current system requires an indifferent underclass who will never rise above their depressing stations and does not want this to change.

What you're saying essentially amounts to, "Forget the peasants and become a nouveau aristocrat in a society where the illusion of economic opportunity hides the same oppressive power structures that have always existed."

You know for someone so into fringe culture you're kind of an unimaginative traditionalist.

That's actually not at all what I'm saying.. but I wouldn't expect someone who apologizes for stagnated thinking and makes excuses for not being accountable to comprehend my opinion.

I'm pretty sure I've thrown the human race under the bus for being idiots who allow for their own oppression and will likely destroy themselves in some way or another on any number of occasions, but just saying that people should be accountable for their actions is limiting. We've existed for thousands of years in this state of elites exploiting the weak while the weak simply say, "Well that's just how things work, God save the Queen," and no amount of just telling people to do better is going to convince them to. It would have happened already.

You need to change the way that humans interact with and relate to the power structures in their lives and to do that you need to change the power structures first. Power structures are stimuli that cause the populace to react in certain ways, and to keep them static or to alter them in ways that keep the mentality of the old structures will simply result in the same reactions from the populace. This is why capitalism doesn't work as a stimuli for social mobility. It encourages the same stratified concepts of social status that existed in centuries past while paying lip service to opportunity, which is why all those lazy, stupid people stay lazy and stupid.
