Important Question On The Future Of Music

Not really but here's a question anyway.

How long do you think it'll be before SJW's deem the term 'Krautrock' offensive?

Do you think it is now?

What would you call it instead?

Frownland 02-26-2015 09:46 AM

How about Bockrock.

Urban Hat€monger ? 02-26-2015 09:47 AM

I'd call it Plankrock, after Conny Plank.

But what else are the Germans known for? Beer, kraut, and what else?

...Meinkampfrock?

Schnitzelrock

"Kraut" can also mean "Weed" in German, which is pretty fitting.
This etymology should simply replace the one with the terrible, racist K-word slur.

I wish the term "Motorik" was less specific and could just take over the Krautrock name. If only because I like the word better. Krautrock doesn't really mean anything anyway.

I prefer kosmische musik, though that term might be better-applied to the Berlin Schools than to the rockers. Just the same, I consider Germany's melding of classical, post-psychedelic, and free jazz music to have a very "cosmic" quality, especially with its focus on electronic experimentation and improvisation around minimalistic arrangements.

"Cosmic music" works great for me.

Beer-rock-race-y?

Its my understanding that krautrock is just progressive, psychedelic rock that happens to come from Germany. How far off am I with that?
