The thing about a libertarian president is that you're voting someone into office whose platform is essentially not to do anything. Voters want easy answers to complex issues. As far as the pool of candidates, I think that candidates on all sides are dominating social media in the same way that Obama did for both elections, so it might just be that you're more aware of them.

A real Libertarian president would do many things.

Pardon all people in federal prisons who were convicted of victimless crimes.

Completely defund the military as commander in chief.

Fire all federal employees in her or his jurisdiction who refused to work solely on a donation basis.

Sell the White House and all federal lands he or she has dominion over.

Veto any bill that allocates federal funds for anything.

Sell Airforce one.

Return her or his salary to the taxpayers.

Insist all cabinet members serve as volunteers.

Those are the first things that come to my mind.

I wish the Libertarian's were a bigger deal.

Then again I can't really throw and stones. Just look at the state of the UK's leaders.

Really, in terms of political diversity I think this is the most interesting US election in years.

Sanders: A hardcore social democrat who draws upon Denmark as the model of his inspiration. (Plus, he want to return to the tax code of the post war period/ Truman to Carter)

Clinton: Third way democrat in the tradition of Tony Blair & Bill Clinton

Trump: American Nationalist, who wants to end free trade agreements in favor of economic nationalism

Rubio: Classic free trade Republican in the vein of Bush & Reagan

In the end I think it will be a Clinton presidency, but its fun to watch, but then again....I secretly admire David Cameron.

I don't see any of these three, especially the first, going over smoothly for the US. The first is particularly careless cause we've positioned our self to be a military target as the world police.

The other two would cause economic problems. Obviously it wants to be an economic fix, but our economy is infused with federal funding and federal employees. Cutting them would create a huge job demand, which would lead to increased poverty and crime. There would be a long, devastating transition before the system got to where libertarians imagine it being (if that ideal is even a realistic goal).

It's all just complete pie-in-the-sky baloney but then so is thinking we're going to be able to continue carrying on the way we have been.

Auto correct is a douche. Like Jansz. ;)

Libertarians mostly just have support in places like uninhabited islands.
