Looks like E5150 has successfully derailed this thread to retardation. Let's talk about the thread topic at hand, shall we?

I'll talk a little bit more about what went on in my parents house that makes me feel like there is a presence there:

Situation 1: There was one night when my family was sitting at the dining room table, and there we have a light fixture directly above the table for lighting, pretty typical. Well, there was absolutely no wind outside or anything. All of a sudden, the lights go out. The only reason this is weird is for a few reasons, 1: they went right back on a few minutes later. 2: they were the only set of lights that went off in the entire house, everything else worked fine, and we have another set of lights that used the same wiring as the previous ones, and 3: no other house in the neighborhood had a lights out problem. It's a bit of an amateur situation, but it freaked me out when it happened because it never happened again after that.

Situation 2: It was a 2 story house, and my family and myself are convinced that the basement near my parents bedroom is the area that the "presence" exists. There was one night when I woke up (this was when I was living in their basement a few years ago) and I could have sworn I saw a figure standing in the hallway going towards my parents bedroom. Before you tell me you think that it was one of my parents standing there, they were both gone for the evening (they had gone out with a few friends or something, I don't remember). Being as scared as I was, I was too scared to even go into the hallway to see if it was just something casting a shadow to look like a figure was standing there. I woke up the next morning and checked and there was no evidence of anything being able to cast the figure that was casted the night before. This has happened a few times and it still happens every now and again when I stay at my parents place late in the night. This could also be a complete hoax but it's still convincing enough to me that it could mean that there is something in that house.

Situation 3: The walls / floors / doors / etc will close or make noise at random times throughout the day. When I was much younger, I remember seeing the doors shut on their own with nobody around them to cause them to shut. Yeah, they could have just been pushed closed by the wind, but on some days, the wind wasn't even accessible through the house. The walls making creaking noises freaked me out the most, and there have been times where I swear i've heard people walking up and down the staircase, even when i'm the only one home.

Anyway, the whole idea of their being a paranormal being in houses, building, etc can't really be proven but it also can't be debunked by other people because we all experience this type of stuff on our own. I definitely believe there are paranormal beings that hide in houses and buildings.

RoxyRollah 08-10-2015 11:18 PM

Ki, you ever heard that the SeaTac area sits on like a vortex?

I have heard that, actually. I don't necessarily know anything about it other than the fact that i've heard of it. Don't really know what to say about it other than that though. However, they recently found a dead body in a house in the Seatac area, and nobody knows what happened.

The Paranormal:

This is what I've come to know about the paranormal: if you feel you've had a paranormal experience, you need to scrutinize it and make sure it can't be something else. If it can be anything else, you can't call it paranormal. And, as a result, you have to dismiss it entirely. In other words, if it can be anything other an paranormal, you have to throw it out. But if it can't be explained away as a hoax, then you've got to investigate. Without proof there is no truth. I believe that most of all supernatural phenomena that's caught on video or in photographs can be easily explained as natural phenomena or mistaken identity, a small portion are hoaxes and the smallest, remaining amount of evidence cannot be explained away at all through conventional means, and might actually be the only legitimate evidence of supernatural phenomena. I have an interest in the paranormal, but at the same time, I can't stand nonsense. And I would never make any declarations without proof positive. Being afraid of being embarrassed is no excuse for avoiding something that's considered nonsense by most of society. I believe any compelling evidence deserves investigation and research and requires an intelligent, comprehensive investigation. Where would mankind be today if every great scientist in human history ceased their experiments because they were afraid of being ridiculed or persecuted just because they chose to research a subject that was considered socially inappropriate during their time? I feel that for those who believe, no proof is necessary. And for those who don't believe, no proof is possible. They say, "Keep an open mind, but not so open that your brains fall out". But to me, that's where being an open minded skeptic comes in. You've got to be your own worst skeptic. That's how you keep an open mind and your brains in your head. Just because I want to climb to the top of the mountain to see what's on the other side doesn't mean I want to jump off the edge. I just want to enjoy the view. If one of these days scientific proof of the paranormal were suddenly available then it might actually lose some of it's mystique with some people, but I know that I would still find it intriguing. There are closed-minded skeptics out there that are always looking for a logical explanation to everything. But just because something has a logical explanation doesn't make it any less fascinating as far as I'm concerned. There was a time when people thought that a solar eclipse was the work of some malevolent force, but now we know that they're perfectly explainable by science, yet people still flock to capture a glimpse of an eclipse whenever they occur, and they never seem any less fascinated than any other group of humans that had the privilege of witnessing such an event in the past. But a researcher, whether they're a scientist or a freelance investigators has to realize that the goal here is proof positive of what they believe. What's more important? A Nobel prize and the seven million dollars that come with it, or a monumental discover, such as a cure for cancer? There are paranormal investigators that are too quick to believe every piece of evidence that's presented to them. The purpose of a paranormal investigator is to convince the scientific community as a whole of what they believe. To do this, you have to gain their respect. And you're not going to gain their respect by being gullible and bias. I believe they hold on to evidence that can never be proven to be true too tightly, because they're afraid they'll lose the only proof out there that's available. That's understandable. But there might be another side to it. I think their intentions may be selfish and self-serving as well. I think they want to be known as the ones who find the proof first, so they can reap the prestige, benefits and rewards that would come with "being the one(s) who found it". That defeats the entire purpose of investigating unexplainable phenomena.

This thread isn't about defining what paranormal is, it's about discussing a paranormal experience that you have personally had.

There have been multiple instances around where I live where unexplained phenomenons occur. Just recently, a friend of mine had someone move into a house across the street from them, and this house was home to someone who hung themselves in the very house. The result is actually quite terrifying:

I didn't even realize that was the same guy. Trolling someone into breaking the rules is one thing, but trolling someone into becoming an actual troll themselves? That's art.

thanks. it was honestly a surprise to me as well. i thought he would just laugh off the beard joke and maybe take some passive aggressive side jabs in return throughout his forum stay. didn't think he would go full on pearl harbor with it though

and yea... i can see how you would be confused that he is the same guy. because he changed his avatar from the beardpic to the **** prog album in an attempt to blend in, sort of like actual islamic militants are known to break allah's rules and shave their actual beards and shed other typical islamic-radical attributes in order to breach airport security and **** like that

Yeah, I hereby call on the mods to not ban this guy. This has the potential to get good. They didn't ban RockGuitar101 for a good long while, and look how that paid off.

If anything, the thought that sick people once roamed the halls of said hospital would just freak me out. Especially if there were notes or markings on the walls.
