I was in a job interview just over 20 years ago. The manager, once we were done, lifted my pant leg. He wanted to see what colour socks I wore. I had black shoes, with black socks. Is white socks/black shoes still a thing, or has it remained a fashion faux-pas?

Disclaimer - I have no fashion sense. The only thing I know about fashion is Depeche Mode.
