Seems. Yes. Seems. That's the availability heuristic at work.

I don't care what anybody says about how many Catholic priests are molesting children (I've seen statistics from too long ago for me to recall to show that this issue isn't disproportionate even among other religions), but the real issue is that your church, as a unified whole, has fought tooth and nail to keep it a secret. That's the real issue.

Of course. The Bible is not a book of merely morality. It is a history book. You think God approved of the man who let his wife get gangraped on his doorstep by his enemies and then in the morning, when he found her dead, cut her body up into pieces and mailed it to the twelve tribes of Israel because he was a warmonger? No. But it's written in the Bible as part of Jewish history. Just because it's written there doesn't mean God approves of it. We must use our brains and know right from wrong. The instruction of St. Paul in his letters is more along the lines of moral teaching. The old testament is almost all history.

Did god approve of impregnating a preteen with his only begotten son?

Also, lol at the Bible as a history book.

Wow is that a creepy thing to say.

Christianity has many dominations. I know this very well. Their values are so different from another.

22:23 If a damsel that is a virgin be betrothed unto an husband, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her;
22:24 Then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them with stones that they die; the damsel, because she cried not, being in the city; and the man, because he hath humbled his neighbour's wife: so thou shalt put away evil from among you.
22:25 But if a man find a betrothed damsel in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her: then the man only that lay with her shall die.
22:26 But unto the damsel thou shalt do nothing; there is in the damsel no sin worthy of death: for as when a man riseth against his neighbour, and slayeth him, even so is this matter:
22:27 For he found her in the field, and the betrothed damsel cried, and there was none to save her.
So like, yeah...
