I'm not saying it's a big deal to me, but you should make an effort to understand

Is that really an argument people make? The majority of society is not profiting from cultural appropriation. Pretty sure most people do understand why it can make all the people sensitive to it upset, but probably do not care. Especially, if their intentions are not exploitative.

Also, if some people really want to use such a lame argument wouldn't they also have to only purchase products from the people who created the product? White guy owns music store, can't sell culturally black music because he profits from it? Who does that benefit?

Cultural patents

Alright, so I think Piers is kind of an ******* and really missing the point. If people don't want to follow gender norms, so be it. It's not his issue, and he shouldn't get so uptight about it because he understands.

With that said, I can't help but feel sorry for anyone trying to go on the news and public media to talk about these things. Do the issues need to be brought up? Eventually, yes. But full on immersion, especially in the current political climate, is near impossible. It's just going to lead to more heartbreak like this. The real way to make these issues known and accepted is like every other piece of LGBT agenda, by slowly easing the public into it. Our generation (some of us, more or less) understands that gender norms are really something that should be disregarded, and people let to choose how they want to express themselves, and with each generation we'll get closer to being in a world in which these things are more socially acceptable.

I guess what I'm trying to say is I don't really blame Piers for not understanding, but I still think he's an ******* for reacting like he did.

my opinion is that this topic has kinda turned into a dead horse. i personally dont care how a person identifies so long as they dont go cramming it down peoples throats. same idea as religion, i guess. it was kind of a funny clip, but Piers Morgan is still a dip**** so you know, whatevs.

also non-binary as a term seems a little silly to me because ive never "felt" like a man. i just am, biologically speaking, male, and therefore acknowledge myself as being exactly that. but eh, its 2017, let people do their thing, right?

It's just a bit ****

Because these sub cultures are often a response to oppression by the class that then appropriates it

Who ****ing cares? Elvis Presley being influenced by black musicians is completely morally neutral. It's not like he went on stage in blackface and did a Chuck Berry song. And I don't even like Elvis Presley. Weaksauce white boy rock for kids with lame haircuts.

You racist bastard. What about all those who identify as throat crammers, huh? You even think about the "throaties"???

From that article:

The pair pleaded with Piers not to treat the conversation about their choice not to identify as either male or female as a “hypothetical intellectual discussion”.
I'm trying to figure out what's wrong with a "hypothetical intellectual discussion."
