Obviously they just did a circle around the disk and the coriolis force caused by the turtle swimming in circles made them feel like it was a spherical trip.

Heavens no! We can be sure that the diameter of the disk is still much larger than the thickness* - yet, still, by human standards, it's quite thick.
*Naturally, the eletromagnetic field appears to interact with the earth in a way that suggests its a sphere, but if you consider the edging effects of the magnetic field of a disk (particularly when the diameter is much larger than the thickness) it's approximately the same result.

Cylinders can't have a height greater than their diameter? I'll have to give my geometry teacher a call.

The trick is changing thickness into height. Very tricky trick if you ask me.

I have a theory that spherical objects don't exist.
It's all an optical illusion. Spherical objects are actually cylinders with height equal to their diameter. Disprove.
