It surprises me that religion is even a discussion anymore. Seems like its only purpose is to govern society and if life and existence predate humankind... Well it really just doesn't add up as anything more than fiction. I think the bible's got it backwards- man made god. Or there is a god and if so no human depiction of god is likely to be factual.

Religion isn't about logic or living your life to a code of ethics. It's about dealing with the threat of death and the unknown. And science hasn't been able to explain "death and all that ****" or remove the unknown (not that it's supposed to). Religion survives on fear, and humankind will always be afraid of something.

Death is like watching the world drift away from your feet. Been there. Done that. Not that interesting. Death doesn't need an explanation, just ****ing live and be a good person.
