Had to turn the heat on for the first time tonight. Supposed to be ~ 34 degrees Fahrenheit [1 degree Celcius].

I wonder if all of this smoke is eventually going to cause a West Coast lung cancer epidemic. I'm far away from all of the large fires and every day I wake up hacking up a lung like I smoked 5 packs of cigarettes the day before. Can't imagine what it's like further north.

The news is saying 631 people are missing and 66 people have been killed.

The footage is brutal. Guys have set up a 'tent city'.

Where did the women go?

It is indeed brutal. The number of missing people will at least get cut in half when things are less chaotic though.

That's good but 300+ people is still a ****ing lot.

I know it's speculation at this point.

But it's still a lot of people.

Hopefully the smoke prevented many of them from succumbing to the flames. I know that's a morbid thought, but the alternative is brutal. I just hope they find these people alive really.
