This one was in 1970. We pretty much were at 100% in the greater Boston area. Got super dark at its peak.

Saw a video that auto-played in my e-mail today which stated that the eye damage from staring at the sun is permanent/not reversible. Burns into your retina or whatever. My work gave out those special glasses (cheapo store brand) but later had to issue a memo stating the glasses technically weren't approved to specifications by NASA for such an event. I will take the word of NASA on this one.

i think this is the one that everybody here (nova scotia) creams their pants about. we (they) saw one in '70 and one in '72 and apparently none since. ive been reading a lot of articles about people who have suffered eye damage because of it.
