Good question. My guess is Trump wouldn't give two cents since he's fixated on North Korea. Putin appears to want to bring back the old Soviet Union so I would guess he'd back the nationalist Spain like the rest of Europe at the moment. I'm just seeing a bad parallel from a historical standpoint when it was Franco's Nationalists against the Left-wing Republicans (talk about an oxymoron). Hitler and Mussolini sided with Franco while other governments officially stayed neutral while private citizens would fight with the Republicans mostly. It didn't lead to World War II directly but it was a period of global unrest not unlike today. It's pretty scary stuff to think about.
