I mean to ask this in all sincerity - no snarkiest intended,
but is there anyone here not experiencing some kind of mental illness?
I’m asking because not only are there quite a few expressing this as a problem,
but every once-in-a-while someone newly surprises me by expressing this self-diagnosis.

I don't think I'm mentally ill. I think I've just had enough.

Whether that is something that was inherited and it was something he struggled with I am not sure. I never made assumptions and tried to diagnose him as have one condition or another. I just didn't know where he was coming from.

When he got emotionally charge or what he said was a little aggressive I took what he said with a grain of salt. However I thought he was always in control of his faculties. I didn't consider his actions stemming from mental issues. I just thought he was trying to keep up with the Jonse's with the trolling. What I thought was he could turn it off at will and just be himself when he wanted to.

The way I thought of him was that he's a pretty smart guy who done well without a college degree. If he has serious problems then it was something I was unaware of. I just hope he is doing well.

He's openly told us he was Bipolar he called it BP though. I'd like to discuss further but I don't wanna get banned.

I can speak from my experience of what bipolar is like, but not all versions of bipolar disorder are the same. I do know that for me, and most people I've known with it, it's easy to ramp people up. I can often times overreact based on my mood. It doesn't mean I can't control my actions though. It's just not easy. We all know that holding your composure during emotional moments is hard, that's how it is for a lot of bipolar people. It's hard to contain my thoughts or my actions under the influence of deeply felt emotions. So if I act like an ******* by all means treat me like an *******. At some point, though, when you're going out of your way to trigger an emotional response from somebody that has a hard time controlling their emotions for entertainment it's less about holding them accountable and more exploiting it. Let's say that my response to intense emotions is harsh and I say terrible things. That's trash, yes. Let's say people go out of their way to trigger these intense emotions knowing that you'll say something harsh. Is that the same? That's beyond even the exploitation of a volatile mind for entertainment.

I think internet forums and social media are magnets for mental illness.

If that’s true, then all the ones I’m on now or have ever been on, except this one, are doing a pretty good job of hiding it.
... or it might just be that they are forums that aren’t mental illness forums.
