First off, you are a sweetie pie so far, so just CALM THE **** DOWN! I think that is where you are going wrong, you are super hyper even by internet standards, and I just don't know what to make of it... It freaks me out a little... Smoke a joint and chill or something ****....

Don't go into threads, that are dick threads. What I mean is, if you get hurt easily, don't go into ban the user above you. Stick with Rate your avatar. Don't put yourself in a place where you are opening yourself up to being hurt. That's just silliness... Why jump in front of the bus, when you use the crosswalk?

Thirdly, you haven't been with us but more then 4 days or something, so you can't honestly think you know any of us. I mean you are doing everything right, trying to meet people, and get to know them, and seeing where you fit in. I respect that and I dig that, but don't take anything from anyone to heart, because you haven't had the time to establish any sort of connection other then in passing.

I told you once, and I told you twice, now this is the last time I am gonna say it. Lurk! it's the most helpful tool you have. See what's what. See whose where, see who you think you might like and who you think you won't. See which musical threads you are comfortable enough to comment in. Then post. Your English is outstanding brother, but sometimes, there are just cultural differences, that can not be conveyed unless, unless English is your mother tongue. It just is.

Nice to have you here, I hope you stay, just chill out.

Thank you very much, Roxy. You're a sweetheart.
Yeah, I'm just a bloody sensitive person,
and I haven't been to a lot of forums,
or tried to interact over the internet with people i do not know,
except through deviantart.. and those people just see my art,
and not my words.
I think I still have a few problems communicating in english,
but I have to do this. I came to this forum,
so I could improve my english, as I need a scholarship,
when I start my education..
Cheers for the advise, I'll try to use it wisely

303 posts in 4 days is rather excessive my friend.

There have been several times where she's come into a thread and explained or corrected a post without realising it was supposed to be funny even though other people have clearly understood it.
I'll put it down to cultural differences.

That's happened to me a few times as well, mostly with Neapolitan. Must be the Canadian connection.

DriveYourCarDownToTheSea - You seem like an awfully cool guy, you seem to have a good handle on music discussion, but please take this in the nicest way possible which is how it's intended and stop talking about the same 4 or 5 bands all the time. Is it really possible for you to find even more ways to post Tame Impala & Animal Collective videos in every other post? And if it's not them it's either The Beach Boys or the Beatles.
I don't say this out of hatred, I say this from having respect for your opinions and an interest in your posts. I just wish you would widen the net onto other stuff.

Drive... was posting most of those videos because I asked him for recommendations from those bands. I've seen discussions where he mentions a variety of artists, but they tend to get passed over because everyone knows him for his Beatles vs Beach Boys work. The thread he started called Temples and Hookworms: A New Generaton of Psychedelic Adventurers has some interesting album reviews. There's a link in his signature.

Before you post, ask yourself 2 questions

1. Does this post/thread need a response now

2. Does this thread/post need a response from *me*?

For example, the answer, or more to the point *your* answer, Kartoffelbrei, to those two questions as pertains to this post would both be "no". :)

Trollheart 03-15-2014 11:31 AM

Urban, thanks for the mention. Seriously. I was surprised, thought you'd pass me over or make a flippant one word comment. As for my journal, well here's the thing, as they say: I love it. I know it may not be your cup of tea but you know, someone else must like it going by the views. I know it doesn't get comments but I've got used to that by now. I'm also very much enjoying the Couch Potato, and excited about what new stuff I can bring to it (stay tuned). I'm particularly happy about that because I managed to sort of break the mould and reached beyond the obvious by introducing the idea of covering TV and film, which to my knowledge nobody had done before. Hey, even you're doing it now, though I wouldn't dream of taking credit: you were probably thinking about it for years.

I think I've improved a lot in terms of contact. I used to stay in my (at the time only one) journal, and hardly even realised there were conversations going on outside. Now, I divide my time between journals and threads. I think I've started some good, interesting, funny and also really bad ones, but I'm certainly taking part. I'm not sure why you think the journal is a millstone but I assure you it's not: when I realised that posting every day --- often three or four articles in the one day --- was killing me I tuned it down, and now as you can see I may update one or twice a week, sometimes more but not that often. it's part of me now and something that gives me a focus and something to do, and I enjoy it.

Anyway, I see through you little plan: Trollheart listens to Urban and winds up his journals, leaving the Hat€monger to move in and take over as the most popular. Not gonna happen, my friend! ;)

But thanks: it's really, seriously, nice to know you care. The journals however will continue, and grow, till there's nothing left of Music Banter but Trollheart's journals, covering 99% of the surface of the ... ah. I may have said too much... :shycouch:

Oh and yeah, I've got your humour now. I understand. No offence taken; I get it. :thumb:

Thanks for including me in your post buddy, means a lot - but I doubt that will ever happen.

For the record, I like Urban a lot. Good sense of humour, great taste in music and isn't afraid to ruffle a few feathers.

You can have half credit for it ;)

I did think about it for a while. I'm pretty sure someone did have a film journal years ago but I forget who so it wasn't really your journal that inspired me to do it because there already were non music journals. In fact I did start a TV thing somewhere, I reviewed David Tennant in Takin' Over the Asylum.
It was however your conversation with Unknown Soldier about Doctor Who that kicked my arse into gear when I saw it because I wanted to get to it first.

So yes, half credit.

Fuck cassettes, if it ain't on beeswax I'm not listening to it :afro:. Thanks for the mention though, you're a swell fellow too.

It's just those times are becoming rarer and rarer as he believes his own hype. I doubt he cares though, he'll probably brush this off with a silly gif.

Actually I'm well aware I'm a one trick pony. My sense of humor is shallow and one-dimensional and I tell far more jokes than is reasonable. This amuses me. I'm kind of self-destructive like that. And it's not so much that I believe my own hype, it's just that I'm kind of a narcissist and if you encourage me I will be encouraged even though I know I'm irritating as many or more people than I am amusing. This also amuses me. I'm kind of anti-social like that. I'm sure it made my teachers at school hate me.
