you guys don't think it was funny at all?

I thought it was one of the more audacious commercials I've seen and give tyler some credit for not diluting his brand of humor.

I thought it was pretty dull. Even at 60 seconds it felt long.

fair enough. I thought the screenplay was funny- "don't snitch on a playa" and the whole ridiculousness of it, yet it still does good job parodying racial profiling by police. Iunno, i went in with extremely low expectations so maybe thats why.

The "keep your mouth shut-ah" and "You're never going to catch meeeeeee" made me laugh

Viewing it as a single commercial out of context with the other parts is what is really throwing people off of it imo.

The 3rd one was definitely the best out of the bunch though and the woman trying to ID him is the waitress from the first part.

Took me forever to hunt the actual ad down. It's almost as if Pepsi are trying to cover it up and pretend they didn't make a massve mistake or something.

Anyway, it was both pretty tame by Tyler's standards and not really funny at all so eh, I'll just move on and forget about it. Whoever greenlights this stuff thinking it might actually work needs to lose his/her job though.

I love Mount Dew, it's the best soft drink on the market. But this advert just made me less fond of the brand. What is supposed to be funny? A goat's portraying a black man who mindlessly beats a women? Then gets caught either 'high' or 'drunk' on Mount Dew by a police officer; sending him to a line-up where he threatens and intimidates the victim.
Hilarious stuff.
And what does it say about the product? Drink Mount Dew and it will inspire you to channel a mindless thug who beats women and drives under the influence?
Is Tyler's version of 'humour' being as offensive for the sake of being offensive as possible then saying, oh you're too white and suburban to understand me.

No, Tyler you're just a pile of steaming sh*t, and in 2-3 years nobody will remember your name. I may forgive Mount Dew if they make their orange variety more available in Fife.

I didn't even find it offensive, I just found it blah. Seemed like the kind of ad idea you come up with within the first thirty seconds of brainstorming.

They were going for edgy ridiculousness similar to what Old Spice let Tim and Eric get away with. The goat didn't even want the Mt. Dew in the first part until she shoved it on him. He went crazy after drinking it and pushed her out of the way and she fell over. There was no violent beating.

It's at least as good/funny as, say, the video for Domo 23 (which is boring as hell and 4+ minutes).
Also, who actually gives a **** about the moral credibility of the PepsiCo. brand?

Did Tyler take your lunch money once?

PS: This is why I love Tyler. He made a Mt. Dew commercial, it got banned, people are mad, people are defending him, people are analyzing the social criticism/implications of the 60 second plot and picking up on recurring themes. people are gonna remember him if things get this heated over this stupid.
