They remind me a lot of early Wu-Tang with all the self-marketing and natural charisma. So I assume they'll make some good records, some mediocre ones, some bad ones. At least one will die young and the living ones will will go on to have music careers that go up and down. In 15 or 20 years they'll do an Odd Future reunion tour and play their most popular songs, etc.

I do like them by the way.
So far they don't seem as much of a collective as WTC though. Wu Tang almost every member shined(excluding like inspectah deck or something) while in Odd Future, the only 2 people who seem to be getting any coverage are tyler and domo.

Yeah Hodgy. I agree with what you're saying though. Earl has been MIA but I think he's widely acknowledged as the second best. For the ones I care about in the group I'd rank them:

1. Tyler
2. Earl
3. Hodgy
4. Domo

I think Left Brain is a good producer as well.

The people at my school who are really into rap have been bumping Yonkers, Orange Juice, and French lately.
OF is taking over.

Earl seems pretty popular. But I see your point about Wu being more tightly-knit. Although I also suspect that the collective nature of the Wu was mostly for marketing the individuals. They didn't have youtube or twitter to get famous so they needed to build a bigger, more universally interesting narrative. But really, I think most of them were always mostly interested in their own careers than in their success as a group. They each knew they had to make their group a legend to get attention. OF only needed the internet.
