Need Some Help...

Hey, I've never taken the time to really get into electronica music, but one of my favourite bands (Electric Wizard) has a song on their debut album that doesn't sound quite like anything else they've ever done. It features a smooth, rolling bassline accompanied by hushed, trippy, effect-laden guitar in the background. It's very slow and tranquil. It's the only song like that they've ever done, yet it's one of my favourites. I'm certain I've heard bits electronica that sound at least somewhat like the Electric Wizard song.

Here's a link to the song.

If anyone knows of any electronica artists that make stuff like this, suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. :)

I would say check out M83`s Before The Dawn Heals Us.
Also you might want to check out Fourtet`s Rounds album , which I would probably describe as instrumental Radiohead.
I`m told that Boards Of Canada are a good band for this sort of stuff , but I couldn`t tell you for sure.I only heard one song & that was ages ago.

agreed on m83

http://www.myspace.com/americandollarband is a band that just sent me their cd and I have on rotation now. A more electronica version of Electric Wizard.

That was very post rock - in fact more so than electronica I think. Bands to look into are for sure are Explosions in the Sky and Mogwai. To a lesser extint Tortoise, Godspeed You Black Emperor! and Sigur Rós.
