From the clips i've seen they try too hard. Bernard throughout songs will go 'whoo yeah!! come on!!!' to pump the crowd up and i can never stand it when a band does that.
Good band though, i had a best-of long ago but it mysteriously disappeared at some point :s

This is one of my favourite New Order tracks. To be honest it sound's terrible in this version , yet it endears me evermore to them. The effort is always there and their melodic sensibility is second to none. Along with The Smiths, New Order held the British Pop flag afloat in the 80's.

They do shoot themselves in the foot sometimes. What the frig is this? Every single aspect is wrong (except the song I have to say).

Am I the only one who loves Sumner's voice? They never made a start-to-end great album, but some of their individual tracks are amazing. And, to be honest, I prefer New Order to Joy Division.

Not my favourite band by any means but I love them for getting stuck in with the whole dance/rock crossover sound and generally just the whole Hacienda connection...
plus Low Life and Technique are classic albums, why even compare them to Joy Division? Low Life also comes with four CD covers you can switch around! What more d'you want?

Having said that I saw them playing the NME Shockwave Awards (argh) on telly a few years back and they were pretty quick to play the Joy Division songs, totally milking it. But obviously it wasn't enough because now we have Control, more documentaries... only thing that's missing is the movie tie-in Happy Meal.
I always imagined the free toy would be a little plastic turntable with 'the Idiot' on it. Yay!

I've been getting into them lately, i never thought much of them at first. Peter Hook is a greatly underrated bass player and Stephen Morris is an amazing drummer his arms are lighting fast, the man is half machine, and Bernard Sumner is a great guitar player he doesnt try to show off with complicated guitar work his solo's are simple and perfect, and his lyrics are pretty good. I dont think it's right that Sumner and Morris carry on as New Order when Hooky left. I mean when Ian died they changed their name.

My Fav Songs:
Age of Consent
Ceremony
Leave Me Alone
Temptation
Perfect Kiss

If it played the tune of China Girl i'd have to consider it the best Maccy D's free gift ever!
