This is exactly his problem. He makes the most boring generic commercial trance around. It boggles my mind how anyone can sit through an entire album of his without looking for something else.

To me his music has never really been trance.. maybe trance with an extremely heavy handed dose of house influence. Well, back in the day like 2001-2003 when trance was REALLY commercial then yes.. but not anymore though. To stay commercial he has been going more into house. Armin (although he is also very commercial) still plays and produces true trance despite it's drop in popularity. Not to say he doesn't play anything BUT trance. His radio show also usually encompasses electro, progressive house, and maybe some minimal or tech house.

Saw DJ Tiesto in concert back in february, he was pretty good except for the fact he didn't play any of the songs anyone requested. He's not my favorite DJ, personally I prefer DJ splash but he's decent. I love In The Dark byhim.

he was pretty decent in glasgow, actually one of the best events ive been to if not the best, played Im Not Alone, The Scientist, Kernkraft 400, all his elements of life tunes, Sex On Fire was epic!

I got 2 cds of him, I think he's good but over rated, it becomes repetitive, I know techno is much repititive but him too much xD

he may be overrated by stupit people who dont know what their own taste is and will like any artist everyone else likes. thats not me i like tiesto because i actually like his music, not cos some cool guy said they liked it. i found him to be out of this fucking world in july. without a single doubt or second thought, im going next july when hes back in glasgow. guys a total legend if you ask me. ive been to many an event in my life. tiesto was the best so far.

He's gone PURE electro judging by his latest CD. A lot of people are cause that's the commercial electronic genre of choice atm
