Scarlett O'Hara 02-05-2006 02:47 AM

They arn't bad, but I mainly like their singles.

Accipiter 02-07-2006 09:14 AM

 Daft Punk

Ella 02-08-2006 08:53 AM

Love

Daft Punk Rocks! they have so many songs that are used as background music for a lot of shows. Even Bust Rhymes used a sample of technologic for his song "Touch it"

teenage-music-scallion 03-06-2006 01:53 AM

love em their one of my fav bands discovery is awesome

LukeM_UK 03-07-2006 05:12 AM

"One more time" is a FANTASTIC tune!!!! :D

ArtistInTheAmbulance 03-07-2006 10:58 AM

^One More Time is actually one of my least favourites. . . I dont really know why.

Eheh. Me & leesha had a new years resolution to learn all of Technologic together , so we could rehearse it back, one line each.. Man we're cool.

On another note, does anyone actually dislike them?

Urban Hat€monger ? 03-07-2006 11:00 AM

It doesn't look like it. I think it's mainly because they produce music that even a horse could dance to!

Adora 03-13-2006 11:02 AM

Love 'em.

Only people who hate dancing and fun.

Mr Sensitive 02-11-2007 03:10 PM

*Bump*

They put a genuine smile on my face.

cardboard adolescent 02-11-2007 05:32 PM

Meh. Very inconsistent.

effervescence 02-14-2007 07:43 AM

Some standout singles (Around the World, Aerodynamic, Digital Love) but a lot of the album tracks are just filler. Still, when the classics come on in a club I'll dance like maniac to them

Expletive Deleted 02-14-2007 04:59 PM

Very inconsistent? Lots of filler?

effervescence 02-15-2007 03:18 AM

Sorry but the second half of "Discovery" is entirely forgettable, at least in my opinion :)

Expletive Deleted 03-24-2007 02:50 PM

Just bought tickets to see them in July. Got floor seats before they sold out, which took about 20 minutes.

effervescence 03-28-2007 04:08 AM

I'll be seeing them at Wireless at Hyde Park in July - alongside LCD Soundsystem. I'm hoping the two duet for "Daft Punk are playing at my house" - I think that would be brilliant.

Raine 04-08-2007 06:17 PM

One of my fave techno bands of all time.

I really liked their album Homework

My favoritesong would probably be One More Time. SOmething about the beat just helps me relax.

Daydream_Haze 04-16-2007 07:15 PM

LOVE daft punk! "One More Time" is one of the best dance songs and always will be. "Technologic" makes me laugh, it's fun to listen to. ^_^

abajaj2280 04-16-2007 10:17 PM

they're okay

Techno_fool 04-22-2007 04:45 AM

I think Daft Punk have made some realy great tracks, but also a lot of forgettable tunes as well.

Digitalism don't really sound close enough to Daft Punk to be a "ripoff" (unless you think Simian Mobile Disco, Justice, and all those other Electro House acts are ripping them off as well), and that album isn't very good.

jackhammer 06-04-2007 02:39 PM

^^^^
Don't know Simian Mobile disco etc, so can't possibly comment, I only dabble in the electronica genre, but as soon as I heard DIGITALISM it reminded me of daft punk albeit a worse version of them.

xXindieXsnobXx 06-06-2007 12:02 PM

daft punk is pretty great but i get what people are saying about some of the songs not feeling complete like it goes a different way then it should then its over but still i love the music.

i personally think daft punks albums are complete, full, and beautiful. i believe they have done something very artistic with their style of music. theyre songs go far beyond just the beats and loops, even though many of the lyrics are repeated over and over (if they exist) they are expressive and carefully chosen. "homework" was an amazing album, but i feel as if they were still learning alot about themselves musically. when working on "discovery" they had discovered their talent, but wanted to go beyond just beats and add more to the music. they added more involved lyrics and a story of turning into robots, a creative idea in which was brilliant. they continued this story into "human after all". anyways, thats just my opinion and it probably isnt worth 2 ****s to most of you but, cheers.

on a side note, in this 'style' of music i think music videos can offer a lot. beyond just the visual stimulation, if done creatively they can really help express what the artist wanted to get across. if not perhaps you get a glimpse into the art of someones film or animation while listening to a track you enjoy, win win situation.

Terrranova3 06-22-2007 11:11 AM

I love electronica but too me daft Punk only has like three good songs.
