Default Good Trance Suggestions

Well, I have been listening to a ton of Infected Mushroom lately, and I realized I want more trance like that. I want it fast, melodic and epic. So, any suggestions? Also, try to pick more original trance groups because I prefer to listen to ones that are somewhat original.

As far as Trance is concerned, my favorite has always been the work of MATT DAREY. Although he is mostly responsible for remixing other people's work, he has a style that is truly beautiful to me. He has a great knack of adding elements of upcoming songs into the previous song (I hope that makes sense), not to mention his love of bringing things down for a minute, then building up to a euphoric climax.

If you like infected mushroom then here is a few of the bigger names to check out first.

Growling Mad Scientists
1200 Micrograms - my favorite
Astrix
The Crystal Method
NOT TIESTO
I repeat do not try Tiesto
Astral Projection
Shpongle
Vibe Tribe

These are more psychedelic trance, but i think you will like them. Let me know if you need any more help.

Most modern trance is actually pretty bad, I wouldn't really call anything released since the mid to late 90s "original" by any stretch of the imagination.

You could try some Neo-Trance, which is the trance-y Techno stuff (think Gui Boratto, The Field, etc.) that labels like Kompakt, Dial, and Border Community release. The Kompakt Total series is a good starting point, and other two are kind of small labels so just pick up an artist album by them (try Efdemin's S/T, one of Pantha Du Prince's albums, or Nathan Fake's Drowning In A Sea of Love). It's pretty close to Progressive House if you listen to any.

Give me one artist that uses the type of samples and composition that 1200 Micrograms and GMS use.
Check out Heroes of The Imagination, Magic Numbers, The Time Machine.

Oh c'mon, dude, I listened to some songs on Youtube and it's the same exact **** as every other Psytrance group out there. If you want some actually original Trance try some of the early 90s stuff that came out of Frankfurt, a lot of it is really hard-hitting, but some of it is just as melodic, epic, and a lot more interesting than stuff around today). There's a reason why guys like Sven Vath and all the early Trance pioneers have moved on to Techno and other genres (some of them even refuse to acknowledge that they ever made Trance), 99% of Trance these days was already done 10+ years ago by Oakenfold and that bunch.

Also, I realize these last two posts make me sound like "that guy" who always condescendingly (and annoyingly) recommends you something other than what you asked for, but I honestly think that Trance these days is garbage and really not worth listening to at all. It's a genre that simply hasn't progressed in years, enjoyable for some people, yes (personally I don't think there's enough E in the world to get me to like this stuff), but original it is not.

Default Trance

As far as trance goes, I'd say Armin Van Buuren is amazing, also David Guetta, Guy Gerber to name a few. I could go on and on.
