Reading through this thread it looks like the best way to tell the difference is the feel of the music, like how fast, heavy, and upbeat/mellow/just trippy or whatever. And to me, Shpongle and Infected Mushroom are a lot faster and have a much more upbeat feel to them, whereas CBL is much simpler, more repetitive, and slower, good background music. I really like all four of these bands, but that's about my extent of knowledge in electronica excluding electro type bands and stuff like The Postal Service.
