Hardstyle
 

Anyone here a fan? Just as a quick explanation : it's in essence a mix of hard trance and hardcore and utilizes heavy basslines and/or heavy kicks. It is also quite commonly "dark" or at least it once was.. until artists starting making it very accessible. Nowadays we have nu style.. which I hate. OK back on topic: it started around 2003 when hard trance got more and more aggressive until people started adding hardcore elements and then hardstyle was born. Then hard trance artists like Scot Project and Cosmic Gate started producing tech trance because they weren't interested in hardstyle. Just a run down of the history and most well known songs..

Showtek are great, but that's pretty much it as far as my knowledge of hardstyle goes (if they even are hardstyle - I think so?). I'll look into all the artists you provided videos for - can you recommend any good DJ mixes or unmixed compilations?

as im rubbish at telling Gabber & Hardstyle apart, what does Evil Activities come under?

Hahaa don't worry they're really similar :D They're hardcore

i would have sayed they were gabber, as someone classed as hardcore that i know you will know!

Dougal & gammer, sy & Unknown, brisk & ham etc, you following me, i have always been lead to believe they are hardcore artists, & evil activities seem so different :O but il take you word defo! :D haha.

Ohh well if you like hardcore and gabber.. I would take your opinion over my own lol :D I do listen to Dione every now and then but that's about it
