Nosaj Thing
HOT. Really nice beats coming out of LA.
random videos but the music is there :thumb: |
I know of a dj called Dj Nosaj.. I met him once, wither he changed his name or not I dunno. But this thread made me think of him and how I asked why he chose his Dj name, He said it was his name backwards, NOSAJ :: JASON
TADA!! :) |
I've got his album Drift from this year on my iPod although I haven't given it a proper listen yet, but I was recommended it by a friend who is usually pretty hot on instrumental hip hop. I'll probably give it a listen in the next few days and be able to make a more relevant comment. Went a bit mental with new music recently so I'm working through lots of new stuff, and then get taken in other directions. This happens a lot!

I've been listening to Drift a lot lately.
I like it but have a feeling that it will ultimately fall into my "background music for when I have company and need something interesting but unintrusive" category. |

it's dope but I wasn't tooooooo big on it. it was also a bit bleak at times but perhaps that the sound he was going for. definitely not my fav of the current LA beatslingers anyone listen to Dorian Concept? he's sick |
The album's gotten some decent play by me this year. At first I thought it was nothing new, sounded too much like Flying Lotus but more mellow and a bit less glitchy, smoother I guess. But then I realized lots of artists sound similar but that doesn't mean they're bad. It's not like it sounds like a straight rip off, and it's not like Flying Lotus invented the style either. It was slowly brewing long before him. It's a solid album.
