Chase & Status

wickedlk 11-15-2009 06:56 AM

Fail. I wonder how much input Chase and Status actually had?

For those outside the US

FETCHER. 11-15-2009 01:27 PM

Yeah...uh, I'm gonna' go make a sandwich. Good luck with this though.

I can't watch it in my country, due to copyright restrictions :(.

^^ Well, the songs that they did together are called "Wait Your Turn" (which is coproduced by Stargate, I guess) and "G4L"... so if you search for them over the internet they shouldnt be too hard to come across. There's also an Intro called "Mad House" on the album, but its the same "Mad House" that C&S have been playing during sets for a while now.... the only difference is Rihanna threw some "singing" over it. lol.

Anyways, I actually kind of like the verses on "Wait Your Turn" and I'm digging how absolutely ridiculous "G4L" is. Whether these are forced or not, they're really not trash.

wickedlk 11-16-2009 01:45 PM

Bloody hellfire, Chase and Status must've have been paid a lot to let her do that to Madhouse. I couldn't listen to it even if it is only 1.36 long.

Let's be honest, you weren't going to get much love for Rihanna in the Electronica section. Pop or Hip-Hop/Rap might have been a little more appropriate.

86 Position 11-16-2009 06:06 PM

as I like to say , each to their own.

I don't like Rihanna and I don't like C&S. so them teaming up for projects doesn't make them more interesting to me.

I can see it doing well in pop-r&b circles though. I suppose that's the group this song is directed towards in the first place. many actual EDM fans probably won't get down to this

I'm not saying that I'm an avid Rihanna fan, but I will say that if these songs weren't tagged with her name a lot more people would be praising them. Most people just cant look past it though.

Drum and Bass was essentially another cog in the dance wheel and although I do like some good Drum N Bass, the genre has become a laughing stock due to this sort of thing. The genre peaked over 10 years ago but it still clings to life by jumping onto Pop's bandwagon ( Yes Pendulum-I blame you).

Scarlett O'Hara 06-13-2011 02:17 AM

I like Chase and Status! I'm changing the thread title to stop people being put off.

Lee I so agree, Pendulum freaking ruined it. Drum and Bass peaked for me 2-3 years ago when I was 20 because over here it was underground (literally where I lived at the bar it played). Why do you think everyone's making Dub Step music now? It's not becoming over-rated yet.

djchameleon 06-13-2011 03:41 AM

say what now?

What did Pendulum do?

I liked their album In Silico but I haven't really paid much more attention to their discography than that.

Scarlett O'Hara 06-13-2011 03:43 AM

Try their last two albums. Mainstream CRAP. They went more pop with a bit of drum and bass thrown in. Rubbish. I had high hopes for them too. At least they are good live though.

djchameleon 06-13-2011 06:31 AM

In Silico is one of their two last albums I believe unless I'm missing another one that came out.

this song got me into them in the first place

the last track off of their 2008 album
