Being at an event with thousands of people, listening to insanely loud and energetic music, and having lasers flying every which way is as crazy as it's gonna get.

yeah Hardstyle definitely - the music is a drug onto itself

Goan Trance is nearly ambient, I can dig it from a non-drugsy perspective

edit - more dysphasia again - I meant "soothing" "relaxing"

I reckon that liquid D&B hits the soothing spot for most people -- it's just a matter of timing where it is played

i never once got the racial implications, since it's a different cultural context here - i listen for content not because of race

No, it wasn't bringing in racial implications, just ignorant generalizations.

Did you not see the word "might" in my post. I didn't say it was absolute. But I know it is true for some people and some tunes.

the same thing can be said about any instrumental music.

People want something they can sing in the shower and if they don't have lyrics to do that then they are sad pandas.

This.

Also, it's sort of hard to get into. Lots of people today like house a lot, so when I play some Goa they don't really get it. Goa's a little crazy, and it's easier to get into something like house than the weird basslines and trippy melodies, I guess. Sucks.
