You could say it was Kraftwerk, on the other hand there are alot of similar synthesiser based tunes in early Roxy Music albums. Though personally the thought of it coming from disco leaves me slightly disgruntled.

Kraftwerk still pre-date Roxy Music by several years.
Besides , Roxy Music were a guitar band that used synthisizers. Kraftwerk were probably the first to make music 100% made by computers

im in the belief it started with kraftwerk in the early 70s.

True, though I am fairly unfamiliar with Kraftwerk, i have a few of their tunes: Computer Love, Autobahn, The Model and Trans Europe Express. They are quite a decent techno outfit, having said that they must have been if they kick started it all.

As a strict definition of electronic music the late 50,s. As far as techno goes Detroit the mid 80's.
