Cool Trip Hop
Hello everyone! I would like Trip-Hop song/band suggestions. I really like bands like Emancipator, Morcheeba and of course Massive Attack.

You should really check out the suggestions thread stickied in this subforum.

In the meantime, Portishead is one choice. DJ Wally, is quite another. If I can find (so hard to do, for me) a couple of his tracks, I'll shoot them over. If anything, two of his songs would make the effort worthwhile.

Dirty Art Club is a lesser known Trip-Hop duo. By chance I heard one of their tracks in a youtube video and managed to find out what it was before Darude Sandstorm was a thing.

Based on what the artists mentioned you might like their first album, Heavy Starch, more than the other 2.

There is also The Boards of Canada. However I'm not sure if that actually counts as trip-hop.

I could easily see fans of Trip-Hop digging the leftfield downtempo groove of BoC. Dali, try spinning Music Has the Right to Children when you're up for some laid-back headphone music.

Yeah Portishead, Bjork's first 3 albums have a trip hop influence, Goldfrapp's first album is an amazing iconic trip hop / baroque pop album. I love trip hop.

Is Trip Hop the same thing as Glitch Hop? Emancipator is really good stuff, one of the few acts I know here where I like more than one song.

Trip hop and Glitch hop aren't really related.

I'd post videos but I'm at work without speakers, just take my word on these albums, all damn good.
Some of these may be a bit more straight up instrumental hip-hop, some a bit jungle-ish, but just go with it.

Some of my all time favorite albums that I believe take instrumental hip-hop / trip-hop further than most, there's genuine ambition in all of these releases, not just casual beatmaking.

I believe 'Tricky' is considered trip hop, I recommend the album Blowback. Also here's a sweet vid, damn sexy music. You will get laid to this music, sexy beats and hella sexy voice.
