I've just recently discovered this for me,
and I'm wondering if anyone knows some groups

an example, and the only group I know so far

ok dubfx kind of counts too, but that's not what I mean, no looping, just (mostly) instruments

Dr. Didg was a good example from back in the day. I saw him live back in the 90s and the show was great. He unfortunately died a few years ago, but he was brilliant. Music was essentially just his side gig from being a biomedical imaging engineer and innovator, and he had a doctorate in philosophy from Oxford.
