Same words pronounced differently?
 

Do any of you guys know any other words that are blatantly pronounced differently by some people in the human race?If so, type the words how it is originally/properly spelled and then type how it sounds to the best of your ability using the computer!!!:cool:

Obviously we aren't "talking" to each other to hear how these words sound...because of this, type it in a way that reading it can let others "hear" it talking through their computers, ya hear?

1.Aunt-Ant or Ont.

2.Tomato-Tuh-May-Toe or Tuh-Maw-Toe.

3.About-A-Bowt or A-Boot.

4.Again-Uh-Genn or Uh-Gain.

5.Ask-Ask or Akzs.

6.Egg-Egg or Aig.

7.Route-Rowt or Root.

8.Venue-Ven-U or Ven-oo.

9.Yeah-Yeah or Yaw.

most people because of where i'm from sounds like there saying Mulissa.. when it should sound like Mellissa

also, a girl at uni used to say peedzaahh for pizza (another called it pidzer) and howsyz for houses (it's howzyz you flid)

when pepole say "sear-up" it makes me

Of course words are going to be pronounced differently in different languages. . . . .

They still sound differently though. . .

Water:Wah-Ter or Wah-Taw.

Deliverance:Dee-Liv-Er-Ans or Dee-Liv-Rons.:rolleyes:

Orange-Juice - Some people, like me, say both words "Orinj joose" some make in one longer word "orinjoose" without the seperate "ju" sounds in the middle. The second is common with people who have english as their second language and also those whose parents aren't native english speakers.

Jalapeno

"Hhalla-peeeno" by spanish speakers (phlegmy at the beginning).
"Halla-peeno" by most other people.
"Jallu-payno" by brummies.

Are

"Ahr" in America
"Ah" in England, Oz, NZ
"Or" in Ireland
"Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" in the westcountry

Well, I've just moved up north to Chicago, and damn... the dialect here is a bit crazy. I've also run into the Minnesot(ans? ians? ites?) and here is what I hear all the time...

Chicago- Chic-ehh-go, Chic-Ah-Go, Chiga-ah

Room- Rooom, Rum, ryoom.

Roof- Roof, Ruff, ref

Drives me nuts, I was aware that they talked like this before, but I just want to scream out - IT'S ROOF. ROOF.

Americans have weird ways of pronouncing things.
Take for example two makes of car.

1. It's Mazda not Mahzdah (no such make)

2. Nissan/Datsun not Neesun/dahtsun (again no such car)

Subaru - Soo ba roo / Sa bar oo

I like Sabaroo.

lol I'd forgotten about that one. I have a Kiwi friend who says Sa bar oo and it makes me laugh every time. Kiwi excents are funny. ;)

I hate this.
And when people say "tooth" like "tuth". I cant really write it...
AND , when people really pronounce the "s" in tissue and issue.
As in, not "tishoo" , its "tiss you".
GAH.

But it totally is Sabaroo! I don't know where that other lot get off thinking otherwise:rolleyes:
