I feel exactly the same. Neutral seems to suit me best.

Well, Toretorden (cute rat, by the way), I've never had my cells karyotyped to identify what chromosomes they contain, nor have most people, so presumably you are inferring the presence of a Y chromosome from external genitalia, ignoring the possibility of androgen insensitivity or other rare, but existent, chromosome structures:

From Wikipedia: In mammals, the Y chromosome contains a gene, SRY, which triggers embryonic development as a male. There are exceptions in which SRY is damaged (leading to an XY female), or copied to the X (leading to an XX male). For related phenomena see Androgen insensitivity syndrome and Intersex.

Hi NumberNineDream,
Your description of feeling gender "neutral" is a good one. Someone earlier in the thread used the word "asexual," which is different than how I feel. When I see people who are stereotypically "male" or "female" in appearance, I simply don't have a feeling of commonality with either one. I don't self-identify as male or female. I don't know what it would feel like to "feel female" or "feel male." That way of describing feelings just doesn't mesh with how I feel about myself.

I'm aware of the statistical sex outliers but since I can't check, I'll let people decide wether or not they think they have it ;)

I'm male and i fit nicely into the 20-24 category. I'll do it now because I can only be in there for another 4 weeks!

Haha how did you get the impression I was older?

Was quite the lax 20th though.

Freebase Dali 09-19-2009 06:34 PM

I used to work with an old Bosnian guy named Zarko.
Just the other night, I had a dream that I was working at a sheet metal fabrication factory with him, and that he called me Sparko, because I was a welder.

I dunno why I just said that, but just to let you know... When I see your name "Zarko", I think of a 50 year old short guy who's balding, barely speaks English, and loves to crack dirty jokes.

I miss that guy.
:(

adidasss 09-22-2009 09:48 AM

@Zarko: Yeah, I never asked but is your name Žarko? If so, any affiliation to the Balkans?

Nope, straight up Zarko. Eastern Europe descent, Ukraine in particular.

Apparently its a more popular first name.

adidasss 09-22-2009 10:31 AM

Ah, I see.

~LK~ 09-24-2009 02:17 AM

Okay, poll closed! There are so many people posting in here who only stuck around for a day or two, I'm not sure how reliable it actually is and the older it gets, the less true it will be. Also, I'm not sure whether or not I can be arsed with updating the statistics. I think the ones I've done so far are pretty good and a good description of our community which, according to those numbers, is comprised mostly of young people in their teens and early 20s with about 1/4th being female.

bardonodude 10-07-2009 06:06 AM

well i just missed this poll haha, but Im 22/male

Guybrush 10-07-2009 06:13 AM

Well, I might start another one sometime but this thread has already answered the questions I had when I made it - which was : what is the age and sex distribution on musicbanter?

That question might come up again later when old members have gone and new members have joined up and if I'm around I can do it again then. ;)

My prediction for the future is that this distribution between age groups and sexes is fairly stable and won't change much. If something had to change, my guess would be that there could be more young girls on the site in the future.

let's do race next.

Wha? Old bastard? Pssshhh....

I have a Mr. Potato Head too. lol. The Transformers edition.

Mojo 10-14-2009 07:54 PM

Heh well i actually don't have one BUT i would quite happily accept one. Mr. Potato Head is well cool.

And yes, im a quarter of a century old now. I'll be buying some slippers, adopting a pipe like my dad used to smoke and buying one of those things to lift you in and out of the shower next. Although, that would actually be pretty cool.

Grats on reaching the next level! Spend your skill points wisely :)

Mojo 10-15-2009 04:08 AM

I already spent them pre-ordering some gin, a nice warm pair of slippers and some lovely looking cream coloured trousers with a waistband that reaches up around my neck. Bring on the old man-ness!
