The First Murder:
Here are the 4 clues for the first murder:
1. Lyle Lovett's novelty song about an eccentric orator 2. A live album by Green Day 3. Pioneer in the new wave of British heavy metal 4. Long-Island based band who have an obsession with the paranormal |

NOTE: Please feel free to "think out loud" on here to get inputs from other forum members. I can't guarantee I will help you guys out with hints, but I want to see what conclusions you come up with.
|
I wonder if it's someone involved in a Live Green Day album? Can't be a title. Hmmm..

"Bullet in a Bible" is a live Green Day album, so I'm going to guess the murder weapon was a gun. As far as Long Island bands with a paranormal fetish, BOC leaps to mind, although I'm not sure that's who you were going for or what to make of it if it is. The british heavy metal bit is also a bit vague as yet--assuming we're just dealing with the band name directly as the clue, maybe Saxon if it's one of the people involved. The Lyle Lovett one has me stymied, though. |
Well you got the BOC right and the "bullet in a bible" is not only in reference to the murder weapon, but also gives hints to who got killed. Think of New Wave of British Heavy Metal Bands with names that have to do with a bible...
|
I'm spoonfeeding you guys on this one because it's the first mystery.
Think of the connection between the "Blue Oyster CULT" and "Bullet in a BIBLE" and extrapolate from there. |
OK, so we're not dealing with a strictly one-to-one relationship between clues and bits of information. That's helpful to know. I'm getting more impressed by how thought out this is.
One can assume that you're referring to Judas Priest then (although Satan and a couple others might also apply, JP seems the most obvious). And I'm guessing you're referring to "Church" by ol' Lyle, yes? So a cult member shot (and possibly ate) a priest in a church? Maybe? |

Next mystery...
Little known track from Motorhead's 1993 album Rush album featuring their first UK hit Muse album; one of its tracks rips off a chopin waltz almost note for note The last track on the album that opens with “21st Century Schizoid Man” |

In The Court of The Crimson King(Including The Return of the Fire Witch and The Dance of the Puppets) is the 4th one. So there was some kind of resistance in a court?
|
Well, the first Rush single to chart in the UK was from "A Farewell to Kings," I believe.
And the track of "Bastards" (the Motorhead album in question) that seems to best fit this scenario is "I Am the Sword" So I'm going to guess that a King was killed by the sword of a resistance member in his court. This is fun. |

The third murder mystery!
Power metal band founded by ex-Helloweener Pink Floyd’s most iconic album Elton John hit; major themes expressed are estrangement and detachment The creature that’s “hanging ten” in Joe Satriani's famous instrumental |
Quote:
Rocket Man? A space theme maybe? |
Well, I was gonna give someone else a chance, but ok. It's been 2 days.
So the Joe Satriani clue refers to "Surfing with the Alien" I'm assuming. And I think the other clue refers to Kai Hansen's tenure in Gamma Ray. So the only thing I'm unclear on is who murders whom here. But I'm going to guess that an Alien from the Dark Side of the Moon blasts an astronaut to death with radiation. |
This one's gonna be more free-form. The clues won't point to specific events or individuals, but they will make sense in the end and will weave a setting and story from which you can extrapolate what happened.
Here it is: - Billy Joel album from the 90's - Genesis' most notable prog epic - Opening cut from Panic! At the Disco's "Beatlesque" album - Talking Heads Hit Single - Erez Eisen's psychothropic eurodance project - Song off "The Stranger" |
Someone was killed by a Psycho Killer at Nine In The Afternoon.

All right, going to take a stab at it...
At the "River of Dreams", they were told "Supper's Ready". They were excited for supper and said, "We're So Starving". They were killed by a "Psycho Killer" who fed them "Infected Mushroom"s. The identity of the "Psycho Killer?" "She's always a woman." Or something. |

Very close, but it didn't take place on a river bank. It was actually a "Scene from an Italian Restaurant". And the individual who was murdered was an "Innocent Man"... although I might have messed up there because I think that album's from the 80's. Oh well. |
