Nope. I don't know what they pay designers where you are but over here we aren't exactly raking in the dough

exactly and on top of affording expensive stuff they are paying for sub-par quality.

That's the main reason why I dislike Apple.

I went into a BestBuy and compared their product to others and subpar quality for a higher price.

I'm sure for what you were looking for that was the case. However, that doesn't make it so in every situation.
