I knew you didn't *really* want me dead, K! Not like some people. ;)

From my perspective, you started a thread to mock Whiskey's posts, and Whiskey didn't enjoy the "joke." And so, as I will always do when I see someone mocked, I came to Whiskey's defense. I voted "1 million" in your poll. :p:
Janszoon's analogy to moderators being bartenders who give harsh words to belligerent drunks doesn't seem to match Whiskey's situation here at MB, since all Whiskey was doing "wrong" was starting polls that you happened to find boring, Vanilla.
Perhaps there was some "backstory" I didn't know about in Whiskey's case, as Janszoon suggested; however,
that doesn't change my view that I feel mods should not start threads to mock members, regardless of those members' actions.
In my eyes, Whiskey
was an innocent patron of MusicBanter's bar, and you went out of your way to mock him or her. And not one moderator, as far as I've seen, has stood up in Whiskey's defense.
I think many members of the moderator team here are so used to this mocking, belittling way of treating people at MB that they have created a "culture" encouraging it. Since you are part of that culture and are used to it, you probably can't see it like an outsider might.
I notice you don't take kindly to my criticism of how you and other mods sometimes handle situations, Vanilla. Can you imagine, then, how Whiskey would feel, arriving at MB one morning and seeing the thread you created about *his* contributions to the site?
Whiskey's response to my post in which I came to her or his defense in your thread that made fun of Whiskey's polls makes me glad I stood up for her or him, because Whiskey appreciated my support at the time. If you don't understand why your thread was hurtful, I wish you would, Vanilla.

Whiskey's reply to me in your thread:
First of all, thanks for the sympathy and appreciation that you show towards this issue.
Secondly, you're right....I shouldnt take these kind of things personally. Its sometimes difficult to do so, especially when its many people trying to mock you at the same time(like in this thread), but I still manage to do it.
Honestly, ever since I joined this forum Ive had a strong feeling that nobody likes me. Sure a "wow you're so cool whiskey" kind of comments here and there, but other than that, I felt like nobody cares about me and regard me as a pathetic troll that only tries to cause problems on the forum with his polls and awkward replies to threads. Obviously these things are not true at all, and Ive never tried to cause problems on the forum at all from the very first moment that I joined here. I truly want everyone to understand that, and I hope Im clear enough about this right now.
If I had to judge myself, I'd say Im probably a gift from heaven to this forum for deciding to join, as Im posting actively everyday and contributing significantly to the forum in various ways. So instead of mocking me, the moderators need to appreciate that.

^ This is the backstory I saw about Whiskey: Whiskey actively posted almost every day and contributed significantly to the forum in various ways.
If moderators feel annoyed by a member, starting a thread as you did, Vanilla, to mock the member isn't a constructive, helpful, or kind response. I also feel it is not the kind of moderation I'd like to see at MusicBanter and
it isn't even moderation! It's...starting a thread to make fun of someone. :/
