I've ridden a few times. The last time the damn horse decided to run back home, jumping a ditch and throwing me off in the process. Then my foot was stuck in the stirrup and I was nearly trampled until I got my foot free and it kept running. Fun stuff.

I hitchhiked all the way from Portland to San Diego when I was 20 years old. It was more common then, I hitchhiked all the time in those days.
