Don't worry, I'll give you a good price on them. Just cause I like you.

Having a couple of problems with my country. Namely, conservation and religion.

The "Blood and Soil" policies of Nazi Germany were all about ruralism and the environment, to venerate their ancestors, which works for The Luxurious Beard of Odin, as we're all about that, but balancing that with industry and the economy is a bitch, and I've generally chosen economy over the environment, so I need to fix that.

And since my country is strictly pagan, and is attempting to eradicate Christianity, it's a problem, since there aren't, or at least I haven't received, any issues giving me the option to promote paganism (at least none that wouldn't have supported new agey, hippy movements). Most religious issues seem to be centered around Christianity, which I of course rule against, and this has led to my country being unintentionally atheist for the most part. This will not do.

I've generally looked to Fascist Italy and Nazi Germany when deciding issues, but they aren't much help when it comes to religion. There weren't any policies or rhetoric in Italy about rejuvenating the old Roman religion, and the influence of the Catholic Church in that country meant that Mussolini had to cooperate with the Pope, even though he was an atheist. Not helpful.

And while the Nazis may have had some pagan leanings, this was almost entirely by individual members, like Himmler, involved in neopagan secret societies. Hitler actually outlawed such organizations, as he was worried that they might undermine the government, and was himself never involved in any of them. He may or may not have been an atheist, but his actual religious beliefs seem to be unclear. His relationship with Christianity seems to have been one of political pragmatism: he tried to Nazify the churches, but in general let them be, so long as they didn't involve themselves in politics. He definitely didn't support neopaganism though. So, still not helpful.

It should be like this in every civilized country.

You know, it just occurred to me that I have absolutely no idea whether or not the fascist region my nation is located in is satirical or not. I'm too lazy to participate with the rest of my Nazi neighbors, so I have no idea one way or the other, but I technically can't be sure that they aren't some straight up Stormfront mother****ers. I don't know how to feel about this.

I used to play this... long ago... This is the only trace of my utopian island society :D I remember being proud of managing to keep an "excellent" economy with everything else being "very good" or better.

I assume a lot changed since 2011 ?

Well, I don't know how many changes they made when you were playing (I first started around '03-'04) but in the decade since I stopped playing they've added about a million new issues -- after about a month you pretty much used them all up back in the day -- and now you can actually look at all the stats of your country (economy, environment, civil rights, etc). They also didn't have capital cities, leader names, or national religions either.

The regions seem to have become more sophisticated. My current one has all sorts of resources to educate you on fascism, along with its own forum and anthem on Youtube.

Well, as it turns out I could reanimate my old country
NationStates | The Free Land of AquaLibria
Though it seems I've been playing it wrong - everybody wants to make their country as funny, unique or shocking as possible where I just wanted a country I'd like to live in.
I have to say I'm somewhat impressed with how well it's been going despite all the compromises I had to make. Or silly answers I had to give because there were no sensible options to choose ;)

If your country's so great, then why is the average income in mine 30,000 more than yours? Sonned.
