Just curious...

If you do know, have you had it? Thoughts?

I'm interested to see how limited to NJ it really is since we have a pretty diverse community.

Pork roll is the king of breakfast meats. Fuck bacon.

If you mean sauage roll, then yes. I liked them when I ate meat. They're tasty.

Nope, but that makes me think I should add a pic. Thanks

Frownland 11-09-2015 05:25 PM

That would be popular in New Jersey.

Looks a bit like spam. Is it disgusting?

Psy-Fi 11-09-2015 05:37 PM

I can't recall ever seeing it in the New England area, although I don't usually buy processed meats so I might not notice it if it's available where I am. Looks like a cross between bologna and what's commonly known in New England as 'Canadian bacon.'

Is that spam sausage? Gross.

That's probably the thing it's closest too.

Don't they call it "Canadian bacon" elsewhere in the US and also in Canada? I remember John Candy made a movie called Canadian Bacon so I thought they called it "Canadian bacon" everywhere.

I think it is closer to a Salami than Bologna. It's not bad, a bit on the sweet side. Sometimes I make a BLT with pork roll, more like a PRLT. I like anything with lettuce, tomatoes, mayonnaise on toast.

Canadian bacon is just from a different part of the pig and usually comes breaded with peameal. Not that stuff.
