My man! Gotta say, I'm surprised an arty mofo like you would be able to stomach the cheesier, anime cliches in the series, but I guess there's enough there to impress even non-anime fans: tight scripting, imaginative sequences, and just plain mindless fun from beginning to end.

How has no one mentioned Fullmetal Alchemist? Either one, especially Brotherhood.

Screw artsy, I just want to be entertained. I did cringe a little during the cutesier moments, but it was overall great, epic fun.

Mushishi is way artsy. I love how it maintains a perfect sense of serenity, even during the most exciting moments.
