You mean high contrast black and white or purely visual avant garde films?

Purely visual avant-garde films. Wouldn't mind more in that specific style either though.

Sounds like you need some Stan Brakhage. Very abstract, buthe excellent. A lot of people cite Dog Star Man as his masterpiece, but imo his best is The Act of Seeing With One's Own Eyes -- a film that consists entirely of graphic 16mm footage of autopsies. It's hard to watch, but definitely something that will remain with you forever, for better or worse.
The Act of Seeing with One's Own Eyes (1971) - IMDb

From there, I'd hit Luis Bunuel's Un Chain Andalou, which is really bizarre also but excellent. Plus, if you like surrealism, Bunuel's later films are a goldmine.
Un Chien Andalou (1929) - IMDb

Edit: Oh, and also, for that sort of high-contrast grainy cinematography, Aronofsky'so Pi is grade-a, plus it's got that guy from Breaking Bad:

We gonna rate another movie? You don't have to stop talking about this, though.

Absolutely hilarious, even better than snatch. 10/10

Adaptation

Charlie Kauffman is my favourite screen writer, and this movie is a perfect example of why. Great performance by Nicholas Cage complimented by an incredibly weird script that is equal parts intelligent and silly.

Lol forgot to actually rate it. 9/10.

Where the Wild Things Are
