Street Names

Let's name em.

It's all about Wells Street

Frownland 05-10-2016 01:39 AM

Bolderwood Arboretum Ornamental Drive - Googled it and don't care about the context at all.

Avenida Azul - Means blue avenue or something. Siris and GPSs always says Azul like asshole so I feel like that's significant.

Posting street names

Here in Philly there's one called Street Road.

DwnWthVwls 05-10-2016 05:52 AM

There was a street named after the town I loved in. Idk if that's common but it seemed weird. It wasn't even a major road, just a little 1/2 mile dirt/stone path.

Manville Road, Manville, NJ...

Janszoon 05-10-2016 06:00 AM

Here's a nice one.

Lisnaholic 05-10-2016 06:56 AM

^ Haha! That one is brilliant, Janszoon!

I used to walk past one of London's shortest streets; space for just handful of houses each side before the street came to an abrupt stop up against a wall. There wasn't even room to turn your car round - you'd have to reverse out. But it was sufficiently long to have an official name: Goodenough Road.

There's a Rip Rap Road for some apparent reason where I live, but for any video game nerds out there, there's also a Commander Shepard Boulevard.

What's the apparent reason?

bob_32_116 05-17-2016 01:48 PM

AC/DC Lane (in Melbourne)

And yes, it is named after the band.

I just looked it up out of curiosity, and apparently "rip rap" are the rocks they line shores with to prevent erosion. Kind of a let down, but still a goofy name for a road.

If it was apparent why did you have to look it up?

Yes, this is obviously some sort of revenge!
Congratulations to monkey tennis; you bided your time and found the right moment for payback!
