Should posts in the Lounge count?

I know the idea is to "force" people out into the music area, as otherwise they could stay here forever amassing posts, but really, when you think about it, doesn't all the real conversation go on here anyway? Aren't all the best threads here? Think of the Trump thread, Flat Earth, or Your Day. Isn't this where we spend probably ninety percent of our time anyhow? Yet we don't get any recognition for it against our post count. Seems unfair. And silly.

I know in all likelihood nothing will/can be done, but who else agrees that posts here should count? Just wondering.

If anything it's better this way.

Pretty sure posts in the Current Events, Philosophy, and Religion subforum do count.

Post count doesn't matter to me, but I'm inclined to leave it as a measure of contribution to musical discussion.

I personally don't think that any of the posts on MB should count or be visible.

I'm a regular member on another guitar/music forum, and the posts count in the "Off Topic Discussion", so I was confused when I first posted here, but I kind of like how it forces people to post in the music threads. After all, this site was started to share and discuss music, I would assume. At the same time, I see your point. It is nice to be recognized as a regular who posts a lot regardless of what thread you post in. I'm indifferent.

I'd like to know how many hundreds of thousands of posts I'd have without the ban, but meh meh meh meh meh meh meh.

Obviously nobody gives a ****, that's clear. But the point I was trying to make is that this "restriction" doesn't force people to post in the music forum. They'll do that anyway if they want to, and, as has become quite obvious, few people care about post counts so they will continue to hang out in the Lounge here if they want to. So what in effect does this restriction achieve? Nothing, really. And I want my posts. Now! :D

Carry on, I'll be over in the corner sulking about you all...
