Question Are we doing enough to protect our online reputations — especially as musicians

I was having a conversation with someone in music recently, and it got me thinking about how artists and their teams manage reputational risk online.

In today’s climate, one tweet, lyric snippet, or old post can resurface and spark backlash, sometimes enough to damage a career or cancel opportunities. It’s wild how fast it can happen, even for well-established names.

As people working in and around music, whether you’re an artist, manager, A&R, or label exec, are we doing enough to protect our reputations online?

Do you have any kind of process or system in place before something goes live? Or is it more reactive than proactive?

I have a potential solution. However, I'm curious how others in music are navigating this.

Because of the rights that we all have, no one is safe from being cancelled and it can happen for any reason including those that we never even think of before they are under the microscope.

God bless you always!!!

cancel culture is retarded idgaf what some hyperonline twitter f*ck has to say about me to ruin my life. no one is disposable, no one is unworthy of life. I'm glad culture is moving past this, at least many of the leftists I know, who consequentially are more concerned with mutual aid and doing the work than just virtue signaling online.

cancel culture is the prison industrial complex for leftists and if they wanna say anything about what person I was in the past they don't know what I've been through, what I've learned how I've grown, and I don't care. if someone starts a harassment campaign on me I will simply throw my computer out the window

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

I wonder why Tom Holland says that American culture wars are essentially between two different branches of Christianity, that deep down the woke left is no less Christian than the religious right.
