Default Itzhak Perlman at Obamas Inauguration

Hey, did anyone watch Yo yo ma and Itzhak Perlman airbow John Williams composition at Obama's inauguration? I was completely blown away watching the T.V and hearing the composition for the first time and later that night after watching the news hearing that it was actually faked.

A lot of people are just going with it like that is normal. How can you?

Because, it's the Inauguration.
It's not a Yo Yo Ma and Itzhak Perlman concert.

It just doesn't seem right. They were brought in to decorate the occasion not to fake it. :/

I guess they wanted to make sure that it was perfect and didn't wanted to risk any musical slips. But coming from Perlman and Yo Yo Ma, imperfections are unlikely.

Yeah... its kind of hilarious the whole striving for perfection plastic way we go about just about everything these days. Here you have two of the best musicians on the planet and you'd rather be 100% sure that it's "perfect" instead of experiencing the music live. Part of the fun of live music is its unpredictability... although like manny said, I sure wouldn't put my money on any mistakes.

It was frigid out. The reason it was pre-recorded is because it was too cold for the instruments--not a typical concert situation. They would have been foolish to try and do it live.
