which band will earn more?

the current record for total ticket gross for a tour is $126.4 million which is held by the Rolling Stones. the current RollingStone magazine says that it can be beaten this year by the Rolling Stones themselves. U2, on a world tour itself, currently sits in 3rd place all time (the Boss is #2). who do you think will earn more money from their tour this year, U2 or Rolling Stones? also will U2 be able to de-throne them to take the top spot or will the Rolling Stones sit pretty by beating their record or coming close to their old record? (rolling stones have had a few stadium-like capacity crowds so that gives them advantage over the arena-like U2) personally, i hope U2 does major damage and goes out on top and will stay there for a long time, maybe to be beaten by - U2.. hehe.

post your opinions and submit valid info if you have it. thanks.

The Rolling Stones won't be beaten. This is a huge one off by these guys, every man and his dog would be off to see them on their last tour.

U2, meh, lets just say I wouldn't go see them.

U2 will never win this one...

i think they have a chance. if they add australia and oceania to the end of their tour, they'd be able to do it. however, i think it would stretch the tour into 2006 and i dont know if U2 are going to do that. and if they play'd a few more of those 80,000 people concerts, they'd have a better shot. that is mainly what gives the stones an advantage and likelyness of not being beaten. but from what i remember in 2001, the Elevation Tour made $14 million shy of the Stones record. thats not that much considering U2 played arenas and not stadiums. the boss took over the number 2 spot (from U2) after he played 10 sold out shows at giants stadium (min. capacity 75000). without those gigs, he'd never approach 2nd place. i really hope U2 can beat the stones even though it will be hard. stones have been around for like 35+ years so they maybe have a bigger following but that doesnt mean they cant be surpassed with Vertigo Tour or next one or 2.

those are my opinions and not based on any written-in-stone pieces of info.

The Rolling Stones. Period.

i reckon that no one will knock the stones off for along time, and plus i cant stand U2 so hopefully not!!!
