Last.fm level 24, even after resetting last September. Is this a good number?

What is the level thing? I'm a little out of the loop because my internet ran out of space and I have to wait till Sunday so I can rape Last.FM again.

I think it calculates your number of individual atrists with the number of plays, and how many are spread between each artist.

So if you have 10,000 artists, but only two or three for each, you would probably have a low score, but if you are like myself, who has around 3,100 and pretty much half of them at least 5+, and around a 1000 with 15+, you get a higher level.

That's what it seems like anyway.

The whole levels thing is lame. Just a little number to flaunt around.

You've listened to a lot of music, great.

Thinking about it, there's a lot I dislike about LastFM. Its role as a good resource for finding new music is what keeps me interested in it. That, and trolling pricks on the My Bloody Valentine shoutbox.

I love lastFM, but I wish it would generate a few more types of statistics, as well as handle artists with the same name better.

I use it as a music catalogue. Miles easier to remember what you have listened to.

Exactly why I use it. It makes it easier for me to answer the question "so what bands do you like?" etc.
